C-11 / VC-11 Gulfstream II The C-11 is a military modification of the commercial Gulfstream II aircraft, manufactured by Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation (GAC) Savannah, Georgia.
The Gulfstream VC-11A is used as a small transport by the Coast Guard.
The HALO is an instrumented Gulfstream II-B optical data collection aircraft providing airborne collection of multispectral (spanning the ultraviolet through the longwave infrared), imaging (calibrated radiometric and photo documentary), optical signature data on targets of interest including reentry vehicles, missile plume phenomenology, and missile/target intercepts, and intercept debris characterization and kill assessment.

Having spent some time with the G2 simulator provided to me, I can attest to the fact that the acceleration, pitch and roll rates of the simulator very closely resemble that of the real aircraft.
I was interested in what happened with the power pulled back to idle and sure enough, it comes down quite smartly without accelerating, just like the real airplane.
All simulators have some hiccups (including the $24M+ models we train in), but for an armchair pilot, this will give him a very close approximation to how the Gulfstream performs.
