	Mobile Suit Gundam F91 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Originally planned as a full-length television series, Gundam F91 was re-tooled as a thirteen-episode OVA early in the development process, then further condensed into a theatrical feature film.
		The story of Gundam F91 revolves around teenage space colonist Seabrook Arno, his girlfriend Cecily Fairchild, and the efforts of the Crossbone Vanguard militia, led by Cecily's grandfather Meitzer Ronah, to established an aristocracy known as "Cosmo Babylonia".
		In keeping with Gundam tradition, the civilian Seabrook is forced by circumstance to pilot the F91 Gundam, coincidentally designed in part by his estranged mother, Dr. Monica Arno.

	Yoshiyuki Tomino - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		He later became one of the most important members of the animation studio Sunrise and went on to direct much of their anime through the 1970s and 1980s before slowing down in the 1990s.
		Tomino is perhaps best known for his transformation of the super robot genre into the real robot genre with 1979's Mobile Suit Gundam.
		With his first work for Sunrise, 1977's Zambot 3, as well as with 1980's Space Runaway Ideon, 1983's Aura Battler Dunbine, and 1985's Zeta Gundam, Tomino earned the nickname "Kill 'em All Tomino" for the high body count of normally-sacrosanct main characters in his works.

		Anyway, Zeta Gundam is SUCH a fantastic series and I'm very grateful to have finally had the oppurtunity to watch this great show.
		Gundam Nutz (hey theres a new mobile suit name) will already have this series on tape (probably fourth generation dubs)-I was happy with the quality of the DVD compilation (even though I DIDN'T recieve the little Gundam figures as advertised, oh well)
		Zeta Gundam is an intelligent, thought-provoking series, and one of the better sci-fi sagas to come around in recent memory.

		This moves us past a significant amount of time and events in the UC timeline, but the general gist of things is that there's been a strong era of peace and each of the sides have kept to their own over the years.
		One of the draws of the Gundam universe for me at least is that both of the main sides have their flaws and you can almost always find each of them having a solid enough justification for what they're doing.
		Gundam F91 is similar to most other Gundam properties in that there are a variety of levels to be absorbed here and each time you see it new material will come from it.

		Gundam F91 follows the classic Gundam plot structure- war comes into the mostly peaceful life of a young man and his friends and fate sees him as the pilot of the weapon which could end the conflict.
		The film exemplifies gundam in all of its glory, by using the famous openning sequence in which an un-suspecting citizen, usually a naive young man, is forced to defend his home from mobile suit attack in an unfamiliar fighting machine.
		Gundam F91 still isn´t the last Universal Century story to be released, we still have a little ways to go.

		Within that subgenre is a set of series that have all but proven the pinnacle of achievement, not so much for the advanced nature of the anime style itself but for the depth and breadth of characters.
		Those series fall under the name of Gundam and range over many years in terms of continuity (to be fair, not all of the series take place within the same time line or Universe though).
		I had the pleasure of reviewing it although many of you will have far greater background knowledge of the series than I do (I've seen many of the shows but not all of them and I'm not that obsessive about the nitpicky details as slavering fanboys are).

		The ending was very unsatisfactory for me, a rare miss for a Gundam ending.
		The bottom line: spring for the Gundam 0083 set instead, it has more than 2x the number of episodes of a much better series for only a small amount more.
