	James Gunn Biography
		James Gunn was born in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1923.
		Gunn has worked as an editor of paperback reprints, as managing editor of KU alumni publications, as director of K.U. public relations, as a professor of English, and now is professor emeritus of English and director of the Center for the Study of Science Fiction.
		Gunn started writing SF in 1948, was a full-time freelance writer for four years, and has had nearly 100 stories published in magazines and books; most of them have been reprinted, some as many as a dozen times.

		Gunn, 34, began his screenwriting career with B-movie studio Troma Films, where he wrote Tromeo and Juliet, one of the studio's best-known cult titles.
		He and his roommate Bill Sinewski (named after Gunn's roommate at the time he was writing the book) use their illicit earnings to finance their own addictions to vintage toys — the same ones they played with as kids.
