Esiason was released earlier this year by the Arizona Cardinals and met Monday with the Green Bay Packers.
Esiason, however, was uanble to work out a deal with the Super Bowl champions and then turned to Cincinnati, a team he guided to the Super Bowl following the 1988 season.
Esiason led the NFL in passing in 1988, when the Bengals advanced to the Super Bowl before losing to the San Francisco 49ers.
