Gunnersbury signal box At that time it was called Gunnersbury Junction, and controlled the junction at the north end of Gunnersbury station which was in Chiswick, West London. Gunnersbury box closed on 26th March 1980 and is now controlled from the panel in Richmond box, although it is interesting to note that the signals in the area are plated "GB". Kew Gardens station The station, and the track between Gunnersbury station (immediately to the north) and Richmond station (immediately to the south), passed into the hands of British Rail on nationalisation and are now owned by Network Rail. PS Wiki Encyclopedia This large station served the popular east London park and was a junction between the North London Line and the now extinct branch running to the Old Ford station (on Old Ford Road) and Bow Church station (now Bow Church DLR station). This station was on York Road to the north of goods yards serving Kings Cross station approximately where the tunnel portal for the Channel Tunnel Rail Link has been constructed.
