  Third Season Feedback
The canoe was transported on the roof of a car using four foam blocks in the gunwhales and nylon adjustable straps hooked into a nylon chord in the painter holes.
The gunwhales required frequent varnishing because the slightest crack or wear in the varnish coat causes the wood to discolour quickly from moisture.
The yoke was remounted deeper into the gunwhale and against the fiberglass of the hull and this problem has not recurred on the yoke.

The seats will be hung on the inner gunwhale with four 4...5" stainless steel bolts (see thwart) each and some hardwood spacers between seat and gunwhale.
Now that the gunwhales are installed, you need to do a final sanding before you can start with the varnishing process.
The rule is to apply at least four coats with sanding inbetween, at least after the first and the third coat.

I have taken a liking to the thwartless system, only this time I decided to shift the control lines from under the inner gunwhale to a more readily accessible position, for both my crew and myself, and onto a bridge.
Removing the side decks was straight forward enough, what was required now was a jig to hold the hull in alignment for when the aft sections dissappeared.
Removing the gunwhales and thwart would obviously make the hull want to open out once the rear sectons had gone.

The violation involves 3 hatch tenders standing on hatch pontoons stowed on the deck adjacent to and flush with the offshore gunwhales of these vessels.
To have a clear view of the logs in the water and when they are being hoisted to the ship, it is necessary that the hatch tenders stand as close to the gunwhale as possible.
But, when pontoons are stowed on the deck flush with the top of the gunwhale, as in this case, the hatch tenders standing on the pontoons and the top of the gunwhale do not have the protection of the gunwhale.

On an inshore boat or bay boat they are all trying to get the draft of the boat as minimal as possible and the gunwhales are as low profile as possible.
The gunwhale and bow are as low as possible on a bay boat because all of that extra fiberglass sticking up out of the water is heavy and because it catches wind.
