		Gusgus is an electronic-soul band formed in 1995.
		Gusgus was and is a strange thing that has developed on it's own for the past ten years.
		Gusgus has been working on a new album for two years now, very much on and off period because everybody in the band needs space for other things to work on such as art exhibitions, programming, DJ'ing around the world and doing music with other people.

		During the second half of 1996 the buzz surrounding gusGus was increased sizably when 4AD began releasing a series of DJ/club promo 12" singles.
		I was curious what plans release wise are in the pipeline this year and Baldur mentioned that the "Believe" EP has just come out last month in the UK as a two-part CD single set.
		I was excited to hear plans of a possible limited TAD gusGus release in the form of a remix album containing different takes on songs and maybe all new material as well.

		Whatever gusgus might actually be trying to do, they probably wouldn't like to think of it as esoteric-ambient-retro-handbag-goth, but that's pretty much all I can think of to describe it.
		Certainly, gusgus are inclusive rather than exclusive, and it's about time we had bands like that around.

		Its follow-up is a conundrum that shifts from cool, angular Euro house to somnambulant trip-hoppy stuff to knowing girly pop - a far cry from the dusky tones of most of their labelmates.

		The first time I heard the band GusGus was in a commercial for the 1998 movie Out of Sight.
		Obviously, GusGus' funky house/hip-hop/techno composite stuck out like a sore thumb on 4AD, but they were welcomed nonetheless with critical acclaim.
