  Hardcore Gaming 101: Final Fight
Final Fight was initially going to be a sequel to the original Street Fighter (yes, the really awful one), dubbed "Street Fighter '89", but since the one-on-one gameplay had been abandoned, Capcom decided to give it a whole new name and start a whole new series.
While the SNES Final Fight was one of the first games for the system and perhaps Capcom couldn't fit all it wanted to with limited technology and time, but it's still incredibly slipshod compared to the ports that came after it.
Final Fight 2 not only reinstates the two player game but also gives you three characters to choose from - Haggar, the hero from the original; Maki, the sexy Mai Shiranui ripoff; and Carlos, who carries around a sword but never actually uses it except during special attacks.

Final Fight is one of those great coin-op games from Capcom's past that should be locked away and treasured forever.
Final Fight: Streetwise, on the other hand, is perhaps the best argument one could make against remaking arcade classics.
Final Fight: Streetwise's character models are very basic, and the entire game has a very drab feel to it.

 Hardcore Gaming 101: Final Fight
Final Fight Revenge is a one-one-fighter drastically different from the rest of the series, designed by Capcom's American studio but only released in Japan.
Most of the cast of the original Final Fight have been included as playable characters (although why they ignore the second and third games is beyond me.) The only redeeming quality is how damned ridiculous the game is. Final Fight Revenge's big gimmick was that you could use weapons found in stage.
By the time Final Fight Revenge came out, the design team, completely separate from the original developers, had decided that Poison was in fact a girl and she had a crush on Cody.

Boss fights are challenging, lots of enemies pop up in every level, multiple weapons present themselves throughout the game, and you get to break barrels to find hidden barbecued meats that replenish your health.

 IGN: Final Fight One Preview
May 3, 2001 - Final Fight was one of the first games ever released on the Super NES back in the early 90s ¿ it was sought after because the arcade action brawler was so darn cool ¿ huge characters, wildly animated action, and -- most importantly ¿ two player support.
Granted, it was the early days of a new game system ¿ developers were still ironing out the kinks of their code to program the system that would give them more colors and bigger sprites compared to the previous game systems on the market.
While Final Fight Guy was simply a revisit to the original game with the missing character, Final Fight 2 and Final Fight 3 added that needed two-player mode, and without an arcade counterpart to compare them to, these games satisfied that Final Fight desire.
