Gwen Dozier had a short stint as a Parlet in 1980 with Jeanette Washington and Shirley Hayden, after the release of their last album on Casablanca "Play Me Or Trade Me." Gwen's sister, Janice Evans became pregnant and took a leave from the group.
Gwen also sang on Parliament-Funkadelic albums in 1980 and 1981.
She isn't quite as talented as David Lee Dozier though.

The next year, personnel changes brought in Ty Hunter, Lamont Dozier and David Ruffin and the name was changed to The Voice Masters (not to be confused with The Voice Masters on Bamboo, who were from Chicago).

Supporting his wife and three children by working in a Detroit auto plant and songwriting at night, Gordy's compositions were soon finding their way into the hands of local artists.
Through his sister Gwen, Gordy met a local manager named Al Green; when one of his new acts, Jackie Wilson, needed a song, Berry was the man who provided it.
In late 1956, "Reet Petite," co-written by Gordy, sister Gwen and friend Roquel Davis, became a hit for Wilson.

By this time, the group had been at the top of their game for two straight years; their itineraries were crammed with concert and television dates, personal appearances, and overseas tours.

The doo-wop partners played shows in the Detroit area and attracted the attention of Gwen Gordy, the sister of the Motown mogul Berry Gordy; she became their manager and released their first two singles, "Lonely and Blue" and "Hoy Hoy", in 1960 on her Anna label.
When she struck up a relationship with Harvey Fuqua - the leader of the Moonglows whom she later married - they set up Tri-Phi Records and issued the Johnny and Jackie singles "Carry Your Own Load", "Someday (We'll Be Together)" and "Baby Dontcha Worry", which became regional hits but failed to break through nationally.
When Johnny and Jackie broke up in 1962 and Bristol looked around for a new job: He knew Lamont Dozier, who along with Fuqua, and they both helped getBristol into Motown, where he became staff arranger and songwriter for Jobete, the label's publishing arm.

In 1958, Harvey Fuqua hired the Marquees to be the latest version of the Moonglows, his backing group.
However the group soon broke up and Fuqua moved to Detroit to form Tri-Phi Records with his girlfriend Gwen Gordy, bringing Marvin with them.
It was Gwen that introduced Gaye to her brother Berry at Motown's 1960 Christmas party.

Anna Records was a Detroit-based company that was owned by Berry's sisters Anna and Gwen Gordy and Billy Davis.
The three were perhaps the only producers other than Phil Spector to become as big a name as the artists they recorded.

Tired of the rigors of running a small independent label with no distribution or manufacturing edge against major-label competition, Fuqua was glad when Motown founder Berry Gordy hired him to head the label's Artist Development department, basically a charm school for the label's artists.
He was assisted by Gordy's sisters Gwen (Fuqua's wife) and Anna, Maxine Powell, and Cholly Atkins and brought the Spinners and Johnny Bristol to Motown.
Around 1971, Fuqua left Motown and signed a production deal with RCA Records.
