All four members of China's team won gold medals at the 38th International Chemistry Olympiad held July 2-11 in Gyeongsan, South Korea.
In a three-way tie for second place, Taiwan, the Russian Federation, and the host country each won three gold and one silver medal.
Olympiad organizers awarded a total of 28 gold, 56 silver, and 81 bronze medals in Gyeongsan, which is south of Seoul.

 Chemistry Olympiad
The top thirteen students as judged by performance on the qualifying exam will take the National Exam at KSU on April 22, 2006.
Based upon performances on the National Exam, the National Committee will choose the top 20 students to represent the United States at the National Olympiad competition in Gyeongsan, Republic of Korea.
These students will attend a two-week study camp held at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado to prepare for the competition.

NJ, PA, ND students named to US chemistry olympiad team
Four of the nation's top high school chemistry students —— two from New Jersey, one each from North Dakota and Pennsylvania -- have been chosen to represent the United States in the 38th annual International Chemistry Olympiad in Gyeongsan, Republic of Korea, July 2-11, 2006.
They will compete with students from 68 other countries in the event, sponsored by the American Chemical Society, the world's largest scientific society.
