Keijo Imperial University was founded in 1924 as the sixth Imperial University of Japan during the period of Japanese rule
After the end of World War II Keijo Imperial University was renamed to "Gyeongseong University" (京城大学, 경성대학, Gyeongseong Daehak) and became the first university of post-war Korea.

BLACKSBURG, Nov. 21, 2003--Sookyung Choi of Gyeongsang University, Korea, and Stephen Olsen, professor of physics at the University of Hawaii, members of an international team of researchers at the High Energy Accelerator Organization (KEK) in Tsukuba, Japan, have announced the discovery of a new and unusual sub-atomic particle.
The new particle was found among the decay products of so-called beauty mesons that are produced in large numbers at the KEKB "B-factory," an electron-positron collider at the KEK laboratory that is specialized for producing large numbers of particles that contain a b ("beauty") quark.
There, the Belle collaboration, an international team of faculty and student researchers from universities and laboratories from 11 different countries, operate the Belle detector, which is tailored to study the particles produced by KEKB.

Seoul National University Museum hosts a photo exhibition that depicts the lives of Koreans from the 1910s to 1930s.
To be held until June 12, the show dubbed "Modern Korea Seen through Their Eyes" features a total of 85 photos that employed "gelatin dry glass plate negative" methods, a technique that was used in the earlier stage of photography.
After the pictures were taken by the scholars, the 1,300 photos were preserved at Gyeongseong Imperial University, the predecessor of the present Seoul National University.
