 | | Daejeon, Cheongju, Cheonan, Nonsan and Gongju, all cities along the Geumgang River, will be subject to a total water pollution load policy beginning this year in an effort to improve water quality by 2010 through better management of pollution sources, the Ministry of Environment said Monday. |
 | | Under the policy, Daejeon is required to improve its water quality at Gapcheon River from the current botanical oxygen demand (BOD) reading of 6.8mg/liter to 5.9mg/liter, North Chungcheong Province from BOD 6.7 to 4.3, and Gongju and Gyeryong in South Chungcheong Province from BOD 3.0 to below 3.0 by the target year of 2010. |
