In March 2003, HMAS Anzac was deployed in support of coalition forces in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
HMAS Warramunga was the first vessel in the world to be fitted with the ESSM.
Anzac will be fitted with Harpoon Block II missiles, which have new inertial / GPS (Global Positioning System) guidance for precision targeting, and will be among the first vessels to have the new missile.

HMAS ANZAC II was laid down at Williamstown Dockyard in Melbourne, Australia on September 23rd 1946.
HMAS ANZAC II was attached to the Commonwealth Strategic Reserve based at Singapore for several deployments to the Koren conflict up till March 1959.
In April 1963, HMAS ANZAC II was converted to a training ship and in October/November 1966 undertook survey work of North West Australia before another refit, during which the second turret was removed and replaced by a classroom.

HMAS ANZAC commissioned at Williamstown Naval Dockyard on 14 March 1951 under the command of Commander John Plunkett-Cole RAN, although the ship was not accepted by the Royal Australian Navy from the dockyard until 22 March 1951.
ANZAC’s period of patrol and bombardment ceased on 17 November, when the duties of Commander Task Unit 95.12.1 were turned over to Captain (D) 8th Destroyer Squadron in HMS COSSACK.
ANZAC’s part ended on 26 May when she proceeded to Tokyo where, with HMS MOUNTS BAY, she represented the Royal and Commonwealth Navies at a ceremony marking the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.

The reasons were complex, but included perceptions the ANZAC frigates offered poor capability for the cost, the frigates were a make work scheme for uncompetitive Australian dock yards and any purchase as surrender to Australian political pressure.

The HMAS Sydney is flanked on either sides by her destroyer escorts HMAS Tobruk, and HMCS Sioux.
During her tour of duty ANZAC was engaged in conducting the patrols as well as landing intelligence teams and some train hunting.

I always understood that the acronym 'Anzac' had long ago ceased to be capitalised in ordinary usage (like 'laser' or 'scuba', the two examples in Acronym), and that ANZAC was generally used to refer to older usage.
The Australian War Memorial seems to be one of the few sites consistent in any degree—using 'ANZAC' for all references to the day and the soldiers.
Bean uses "ANZAC" for the army corps and "Anzac" for everything else ("Anzac sector", "Anzac Cove", "Anzac Beach", "Anzac Gully", etc.) Also, it's HMAS Anzac, not "HMAS ANZAC".
