HMAS Labuan paid off to reserve on 28 September 1951 and was sold on 9 November 1955.
The second HMAS Labuan (L-128) was a Balikpapan class heavy landing craft laid down by Walkers, Limited, at Maryborough in Queensland in October 1971, launched on 29 December 1971 and commissioned on 9 March 1973.
HMAS Labuan was transferred to the Royal Australian Navy Reserve on 15 June 1979.
