I spent my last months on HMCS Crusader doing scientific work before my shenagins became too much for the officers and shipmates, and I was sent off to detention and then out of the service.
Quebec a cruiser, hmcs Magneficent a carrier, hmcs Crusader a destroyer, hmcs Buckimham a fregate, fort erie a minesweeper i think and my last 2½ years aboard the Haida one of the best ship that i sail on.
I was aboard H.M.C.S. HAIDA when she paid off in 1963.We had some Haida natives come to Halifax for the paying off ceremonies.We also had a shipmate on board by the name of Jones who himself was a Haida.

RCN Skeena D.59 Built by Thornycroft and launched 10th October 1930, she was grounded of the coast of Iceland 25th October 1944, salved and scrapped in 1946.
They were as follows; HMCS Galt, HMCS Agassiz, HMCS Sackville, HMCS Saguenay, HMCS Skeena and HMCS Wetaskiwin, the latter being the only one my brother served on.
Her nick-name was the Wet Ass Queen and she had a picture of the Queen of Hearts sitting in a pool of water, -- painted on the forward side of the bridge.

HMCS Micmac (R10) used by the Canadian Navy until scrapped at Faslane in 1964.
She was torpedoed and sunk by U.563 in the North Atlantic on the 23rd of October 1941.
Armament: Six 4.7 inch guns, two 4 inch anti-aircraft guns, four 2 pdr anti-aircraft guns, eight 0.5 inch anti-aircraft guns in fours (Cayuga and Athabaskan II had eight 4 inch guns, four 40mm anti-aircraft guns, four 20mm anti-aircraft guns in pairs) and four 21 inch torpedo tubes in fours.

Following his classification training in Canada and England, he was awarded a Certificate of Competency in Marine Engineering in 1980.
He subsequently held a variety of engineering positions in Maritime Command: The Deputy Engineer Officer of HMCS IROQUOIS (1980), the Gas Turbine/Controls Officer of the Canadian Forces Fleet School and the Engineer Officer of HMCS ATHABASKAN (1983-85).
In 1986 Commodore Sylvester was posted to National Defence Headquarters in Ottawa to assume Section Head responsibilities for maritime maintenance policy and administration (1986-89) and for ship systems engineering in the Canadian Patrol Frigate Project (1990-91).
