The fishing vessel with the crew on board left the scene, leaving Nipigon on the scene.
Nipigon was in a rush to get to get to Roosevelt Roads, & her skipper determined that the Lady Marjorie was a hazard to navigation.

I was aboard H.M.C.S. HAIDA when she paid off in 1963.We had some Haida natives come to Halifax for the paying off ceremonies.We also had a shipmate on board by the name of Jones who himself was a Haida.
From there it was onto Newfoundland where I lived aboard the floating barracks, the HMCS Avalon, tied up at the jetty on the southside of the harbor in St. Johns.

I served during a most fortunate time as there were many WW II types finishing their career, and for that I am truly grateful.
They served on the HMCS Preserver in 1980 Their names are Frank L Robinson and William Alexander.

Dave, There was a book containing all of the lower deck ranks, at least from the beginning of the second world war on up until the mid 1950's.I was shown the book at HMCS Malahat many years ago.
