HMCS Windsor (SSK 877) is a long-range hunter-killer (SSK) submarine of the Canadian Navy, the second ship of the Victoria class.
Windsor was purchased from the Royal Navy, and is the former HMS Unicorn.
HMCS Windsor's SONAR sets allow her to locate and track ships and other submarines “passively”, that is without transmitting on active sonar and thus giving way her location.

HMCS WINDSOR (SSK 877) -Having completed sea-readiness, sea trials and work-ups throughout the first half of 2004, the submarine is now capable of conducting limited operational assignments as part of the Atlantic Fleet.

WINDSOR too has been commissioned, and after completing a portion of the refit process, she has been put into active service (minus several capabilities, including that to fire torpedos) to aid in the training of submariners.
WINDSOR is the only operational VICTORIA class submarine, and has undertaken several cruises and participated in at least one exercise with the USN.

On 30th October 2005, Windsor suffered a minor electrical transformer meltdown while submerged off the Nova Scotia coast.
Along with the other three vessels in the class, she was decommissioned in April 1994, amidst some controversy, as a financial measure.
She and her sisters were sold in 1998 to the Canadian Navy and she was recommissioned as HMCS Chicoutimi.
