EPA: Federal Register: Atlantic Highly Migratory Species (HMS); Pelagic Longline Fishery
Estimated 2002 Bycatch of Sea Turtles in the U.S. Atlantic HMS Pelagic Longline Fishery Pelagic longline gear consists of a mainline, often many miles long, suspended in the water column by floats and from which baited hooks are attached on leaders (gangions).
However, management measures for the entire HMS pelagic longline fishery are necessary because, based upon available information, the sea turtle ITS established in the June 14, 2001, BiOp has been exceeded as a result of fishing activity occurring outside of the NED.
Other sectors of HMS fisheries such as dealers, processors, bait houses and gear manufacturers might be indirectly affected by the proposed alternatives, particularly the shift to required circle hooks and bait types, and the required turtle bycatch mitigation gears.

Atlantic Highly Migratory Species (HMS); Pelagic Longline Fishery; Final Rule [Rules and Regulations] [07/06/2004]
As part of that strategy, the HMS Management Division has identified the improvement of recreational fishery data and angler education as items to be considered in Amendment 2 to the HMS and Billfish FMPs.
Because vessels authorized to fish for swordfish and tunas with pelagic longline gear must possess a tuna longline permit, a swordfish permit (directed or incidental), and a shark permit (directed or incidental), the maximum number of vessels potentially affected by this final rule is 303 (the number of swordfish permits issued).
Other sectors of HMS fisheries such as dealers, processors, bait houses, and gear manufacturers, some of which are considered small entities, might be indirectly affected by the preferred alternatives.

Going critical || HMS Coventry | Crucial elements
The speed with which Argentina's jets were able to attack HMS Coventry and HMS Broadsword was a key factor in their success.
Although A4 Skyhawks have a good combat record they were used in the Yom Kippur and Vietnam wars they were, in 1982, relatively outdated machines.
This gave HMS Coventry and HMS Broadsword less than 80 seconds to lock on to the planes with their radar and shoot them out of the sky.

The Sea War in the Falklands: The Royal Navy and Argentine Armada Fought for Control of the South Atlantic
In the tense period before the April 2 invasion the Royal Navy dispatched the submarine HMS Spartan to the Falklands but the huge transit of some 8000 miles from UK home waters meant that it did not arrive on station until April 12th, more than a week after the islands had been taken.
The fact that the British had three carriers to the single argentine one was offset due to the nature of their air wings.

 FOCUS - October 15, 2004
In a clinical trial, a team led by Charles Serhan, the Simon Gelman professor of anesthesia (biochemistry and molecular biology) at HMS, and Nan Chiang, HMS instructor in anesthesia, both at Brigham and Women's Hospital, shows that aspirin triggers a signal that quells inflammation, a previously unknown mechanism in humans.
But a wrinkle came nearly a decade ago when Charles Serhan's group discovered a new mechanism for aspirin--triggering 15-epi-lipoxin A4, or ATL, a compound similar to lipoxin A4, which is produced by neutrophils and signals the swarming immune cells to pack up and leave.
Serhan's team found that lipoxins are part of a class of signals that actually work to bring inflammation to a close, a process called resolution.
