HMS King George V was the lead ship of the 1st Division of the 2nd Battle Squadron of the Grand Fleet.
HMS Dorsetshire, a County-class heavy cruiser, finished Bismarck with a volley of torpedoes at 1000 hrs and another at 1036 hrs - she went down 3 minutes later.
For HMS King George V, it did not matter if her mission was as simple as convoy duty or as deadly as hunting enemy battleships.

HMS Ajax was a King George V class battleship (one of four ships of the class), built at Scotts' shipyard at Greenock on the River Clyde.
Ajax participated in the Battle of Cape Matapan and the evacuation from Crete, removing the last troops on 29 April 1941.
Ajax operated in the Aegean during the reoccupation of Athens and the communist uprising in Greece.

On 27 October 1914 the Second Battle Squadron, consisting of the 'super-dreadnoughts' King George V, Ajax, Centurion, Audacious, Monarch, Thunderer and Orion, left port to conduct gunnery exercises.
Note that HMS Marlborough, of the subsequent (and fairly similar) Iron Duke class, was torpedoed at Jutland and for a time continued to steam at 17 knots.

HMS Centurion was the second battleship of the King George V class, built at HM Dockyard, Devonport.
Centurion was attached upon completion to the 2nd Battle Squadron, led by sister-ship HMS King George V. She was present at the Battle of Jutland as part of the main body of Grand Fleet under the command of Captain Michael Culme-Seymour.
After duty in the North Sea she was sent to the Eastern Mediterranean in 1918 with HMS Superb to oversee the capitulation of the Ottoman Empire.

 HMS Galatea - Loss in WW2
On 10th May, with HMS Arethusa, she arrived at Ymuiden, Holland, to escort three merchant ships which were to carry gold bullion from there, to Southend, England.
On 20th January 1941, after the repairs and refit, HMS Galatea arrived at Scapa Flow and on 26th sailed with HMS Nelson, and a number of other ships to carry out a sweep for the German warships Scharnhorst and Gneisnau which were assumed to have passed through the Great Belt on 23rd.
On 22nd May 1941 she left Scapa Flow with HMS King George the Fifth (KGV) and others to watch for Bismarck and Prinz Eugen which were reported to have left Bergen, Norway, and she continued with operations until Bismarck was sunk on 27th May, when she arrived at Reykjavik with HMS Prince of Wales.

HMS King George V. The mast is forward of the funnels, for good this time, and originally was a light pole rather than the more normal heavy tripod.
This had to be reinforced with tripod legs as the number of fire control instruments such as directors were fitted to the ships.

Fisher's preferred option for the Royal Navy was his brainchild, the battlecruiser: lightly armoured but heavily armed with eight 12in guns and propelled to a remarkable speed of 25 knots by steam turbines.
The United States Navy's "standard"-type battleships, beginning with the Nevada class, or "Battleship 1912", were designed with long-range engagements and plunging fire in mind; the first of these ships, USS Nevada, was laid down in 1912, five years before the Battle of Jutland taught the dangers of long-range fire to European navies.
Both ships were on their way to assist in the defense of Singapore when they were caught by Japanese land-based bombers and fighters on December 10, 1941.
