  HMS Alacrity (F174) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
HMS Alacrity (F174) was a Type 21 frigate of the Royal Navy.
As Alacrity exited the Falkland Sound on May 11, the Argentine submarine, ARA San Luis was reported to have fired two torpeados at Alacrity and her sister ship Arrow.
Alacrity decommissioned and was transferred to Pakistan on 1 March 1994, being renamed Badr.

Appointments as Executive Officer in HMS Dumbarton Castle, the Falkland Islands Patrol Vessel, and HMS Lindisfarne, conducting Fishery Protection duties, were interspersed with a short appointment in HMS Invincible as FC1 during operations in the Adriatic.
Qualifying as a PWO(A) in 1996, he was appointed to HMS Chatham conducting the 1997 Ocean Wave deployment to the Middle and Far East including the hand over ceremonies for Hong Kong.
Further training in AAW lead to appointments to HMS Birmingham as Operations Officer and HMS Illustrious as Senior Warfare Officer, where he took part in operations off Sierra Leone in 2000 and in the Gulf of Oman in 2001.

 Black Swan Class
Four ships were built two by Yarrows (HMS Black Swan, HMS Flamingo.) and two at Furness (HMS Erne, HMS Ibis,) HMS Ibis was sunk by an Airborne Torpedo on the 10th November 1942.
We would be interested in hearing from any known survivors who served with my Uncle George William Beeching on the HMS Ibis between 1940 and 1942 when the ship was hit by an airborne torpedo on 10 November.
I'm crrently researching info on the 'HMS wild Goose' as my Grandfather served on this ship during WW2, any info regarding this ship or routes it may have sailed would be gratefully received, please contact: jay03h@hotmail.com, thanks.
