John Trotter in Brisbane mentioned the corvette, AMBERLEY CASTLE in an email to me and sent me off on another nautical trail looking for this Castle Class naval vessel named after the nearby ancient Amberley Castle.
HMS AMBERLEY CASTLE (K386) came from the yard of ship builders S. Austin and Son of Sunderland and was launched on 27th November 1943 with a displacement of 1,010 tons and a complement of 120 men.
The HMS AMBERLEY CASTLE served in the Battle of the Atlantic.
