The first Bellona was the French privateer Bellone, captured in 1747, made into a 30-gun sixth-rate, and sold in 1749.
The fifth Bellona was a third-class cruiser launched in 1890 and commissioned in August 1894, serving in the Channel Squadron until she was sold in 1906.
The seventh Bellona was a light cruiser launched in 1942, on loan to the Royal New Zealand Navy from 1948 to 1956, and broken up 1959.

HMS Argus, commissioned in 1918 as the first flush-deck carrier, and HMS Eagle were the carriers that escorted the convoy as far as ‘The Narrows’ between Sicily and Tunis at which point they, and the rest of the main escort, detached and returned to Gibraltar.
Later HMS Kent and HMS Bellona with four destroyers encountered a German convoy and sank two of the four merchantmen and five of the six escorts.

In The Yellow Admiral Jack, no longer acting as a commodore but still in the Bellona, is ordered on blockade duty on the Atlantic coast of France until the end of the war, when he and the Bellona return to England.
Bellona was an actual 74-gun ship, launched in 1760 and remaining in service until 1814.

 Borderlands of Historical Fiction
Built in 1794 as the French 24-gun Unite, she was captured two years later by the Royal Navy and rearmed as a 28-gun frigate and used as such until being sold in February, 1802.
It was converted to a troopship in spring of 1811, and (during the period in which it was supposedly under Aubrey's command) served at Leith, and during 1812 to 1813 in the Mediterranean, and around the Iberian peninsula.
Jack Aubrey's command in The Commodore and The Yellow Admiral is HMS Bellona, a 74-gun ship-of-the-line.

Bellona had a most unusally long career for ships of her time, surviving an impressive 54 years after launching, when in 1814 she was finally broken up in Chatham - the very same place she was originally built.
H.M.S. Bellona was laid down in Chatham on the 10th of May, 1758, and was built fairly quickly, being launched on the 19th of February, 1760.
Bellona was also one of the first ships to be coppered, which took place in the March of 1780.

One seaman was lost and the eighteen survivors which included the captain, his wife and three children, spent fourteen days in open boats before being picked up by the Dutch vessel Bato off Bird Island in Torres Strait after a voyage of 700 miles.

The book on the "Victory" has the best illustrations showing the ship as a whole and the names of the decks, cabins, etc., though remember this is one of the big battleships of the day, not a frigate, far less a sloop.
Bellona was launched with "long" nine-pounders on her forecastle (illustrated); the closest I have seen to Jack Aubrey's pet guns, and very possibly quite similar.
