  HMS Bellona - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The first Bellona was the French privateer Bellone, captured in 1747, made into a 30-gun sixth-rate, and sold in 1749.
The second Bellona was a 74-gun third-rate in service between 1760 and 1814.
The fifth Bellona was a third-class cruiser launched in 1890 and commissioned in August 1894, serving in the Channel Squadron until she was sold in 1906.

Although the activities of the Sophie and her dimensions and armament were modeled closely on those of real-life HMS Speedy, commanded by Thomas, Lord Cochrane, the quarterdeck - unusual for a small sloop - was taken from HMS Vincejo, captured from the Spanish navy in 1799.
Through the intervention of Stephen Maturin at the Admiralty in H.M.S. Surprise, Jack Aubrey is given the small frigate HMS Surprise of 28 guns, aboard which he had served years before as a midshipman.
HMS Surprise is another genuine Royal Navy ship, although with a rather different history than that portrayed in O'Brian's novels.

BELLONA, due to the ignorance of her pilot, kept too far to starboard after rounding the Middle Ground shoal and got on shore about 450 yds from the rear of the Danish line.
BELLONA's guns were old and some of them burst, killing their crews.
After refitting BELLONA he was superceeded by Capt. Thomas BERTIE of ARDENT and in July BELLONA joined the Channel fleet off Brest.

The book on the "Victory" has the best illustrations showing the ship as a whole and the names of the decks, cabins, etc., though remember this is one of the big battleships of the day, not a frigate, far less a sloop.
Bellona was launched with "long" nine-pounders on her forecastle (illustrated); the closest I have seen to Jack Aubrey's pet guns, and very possibly quite similar.
