Benbow's captains were mutinous, and he was left unsupported in his flagship the Breda.

 Admiral Benbow, biography, England, United Kingdom
John Benbow was born on 10 March 1653 and was the son of William, a tanner in Shrewsbury.
Benbow himself was badly injured in the leg by chain short on 24 August but he remained in command aboard the Breda until his subordinates insisted on his return to Port Royal in Jamaica.
Benbow died as as result of his wounds on 4 November 1702 and was buried at St. Andrew's church in Kingston, Jamaica.

Benbow entered the navy on the 30th April 1678 as a Master’s Mate on board HMS Rupert.
Benbow ordered a court martial of the captains for cowardice, and all were found guilty in 1703, two being sentenced to death.
Before their trials took place, Benbow had died from his wounds at Port Royal on the 4th November 1702, and was buried in the chancel of St Andrew’s Church, Kingston, Jamaica.

 Iron Duke Class
HMS Benbow was scrapped in March 1931 along with HMS Marlborough and HMS Emperor of India.
HMS Iron Duke was converted to a gunnery training ship in 1931-32 but was badly damaged in a German air raid and was run aground on 17th October 1939.
HMS Iron Duke when she was the flag ship of the Grand Fleet flying the Admiral's flag (Admiral Sir John Jellicoe), and HMS Marlborough when she was the flagship of the First Battle Squadron, flying Vice-Admiral Sir Lewis Bayly's flag.

 Admiral class battleship - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The British Royal Navy's pre-dreadnought Admiral-class battleships of the 1880s followed the pattern of the Devastation class in having the main armament on centre-line mounts with the superstructure in between.
This pattern was followed by most following British designs until HMS Dreadnought in 1906.
They were known as the Admiral-class because they were all named after British admirals with the exception of HMS Camperdown.

HMS Benbow was completed in 1914, built by Beardmore (launched 12th November 1913).
ERNEST JOHN DAWES: (21/3/1911 to 23/12/02) My late Father served on HMS Benbow between 1925 to 1929 would he have been one of the last surviving crew from her.
He would never say much of the events and his family at the time say that he was a much changed man after the battle, as well as having his hearing damaged.

The Canadian Ross bayonet and rifle were used aboard the British ship the HMS CANADA which took part in the Battle of Jutland and later after WWI saw service with the Chilean ship the Almirante Latorre..
Top blade is modification for the HMS Canada in comparison to standard blade profile of bottom example.
Would this indicate that the original issue Ross rifles and bayonets used by the HMS CANADA stayed with the ship after it was returned to Chile.
