  HMAS BENDIGO (I) - HMA Ship Histories (Sea Power Centre - Australia)
BENDIGO departed Sydney on 4 July 1941 and began her active war career in the Darwin area where she remained for a period of two months.
BENDIGO anchored in Batavia Roads at 1245 on 14 February 1942 and remained awaiting instructions until 18 February when she moved to the Outer Roads to give anti-submarine protection to incoming ships.
BENDIGO remained at Merak as part of the Sunda Patrol until the night of 27/28 February, when Sunda Strait was abandoned.

HMS Grey Goose was converted to gas turbine propulsion by Vospers.
My Uncle served on HMS Grey Goose in WW2 when it was commanded by Sir Peter Scott.
Could the HMS Grey Goose you mention still serving as a house boat in Kent be the same wartime boat that was converted after the war OR was it a new boat built by Vospers in the early 1950's ?

HMS LARNE is drawn at 1/8" per ft. Another multi-sheet subject commenced but incomplete.
One of 20 units ordered in April 1940, she was modified with an extended forecastle whilst building, but retained the original lines.
She was to be built as a wire minesweeper, but as the steam minesweeping winch was not completed she went to sea with only the winch bed fitted.

The diaries were independently written by two crew members of the mine sweeper HMAS Bendigo, they regularly, without passion, wrote in their diaries, events as they happened,.
The Victor Neville Bruce diary was transcript by Lou LeBoydre, author of the LeBoydre Family History, with permission and on behalf of Robert [Bob] Bruce, son of Victor Neville Bruce.
However the Bendigo does not rate another mention, therefore these personal diary notes and the book HMAS Bendigo are of historical significance.

With the Allied situation rapidly deteriorating as the enemy advance continued, WOLLONGONG sailed from Tanjong Priok, Batavia, at about midnight on the night of 27/28 February 1942 as rear escort of a convoy of six ships, the main escorts of which were the sloops HMAS YARRA and HMIS JUMNA.
One of the vessels, the minesweeper HMS GEMAS, turned back to Tanjong Priok and had to be sunk on 2 March by BALLARAT to prevent her capture.
YARRA and her three remaining charges, the depot ship HMS ANKING, the tanker HMS FRANCOL and the minesweeper MMS 51 were sunk south of Java on 4 March a strong Japanese force.
