I know that HMS Colombo (cruiser) and four sloops set off with with the five Insects, these ships escorting for the purpose of towing in bad weather and at the exhaustion of the Insects' fuel (some legs of the trip were beyond the fuel capacity of the Insects).
On August 24, 1919, HMS Glowworm went to the assistance of a barge that was burning on a bank of the Dvina River.
HMS Ladybird was on the Yangtze and about 20 miles away from USS Panay when she was fired upon by a Japanese shore battery.

 WEM 1/700 HMS Bluebell & Buttercup
Bluebell is a typical corvette with all the modifications made to the basic design – open bridge, extended foc's'le, type 271 radar, extra depth charges..
She was fitted with a large stern mounted winch for minesweeping, as well as an 'acoustic hammer' on the bow.
Within a week of receiving these two kits I had built HMS Buttercup, and that includes a weekend of trying to decide which one to do first.

HMS Abelia is fitted for minesweeping (as were most early RCN corvettes), and is also fitted with one of the first type 271 radars.
Bluebell is also carrying two twin Lewis guns on the aft engine room casing.
Not all corvettes used the WA colours, and HMS Spirea is a perfect example of this.

Royal Navy sloop of 1,250 tons, built at the Cammell Laird yard at Birkenhead, was escorting the aircraft carriers HMS Vindex and HMS Striker, which in turn were escorting a large 34 ship convoy JW-59 to Northern Russia when the convoy was sighted in the Barents Sea by German aircraft.
During the action, HMS Kite was hit by two torpedoes from the U-344 and sank with the loss of ten officers and 207 ratings.
The 1st Flotilla, led by HMS Jason and including the Britomart, Hussar, Salamander and the trawler Colsay, began their fifth day of minesweeping on Sunday, 27th of August, 1944.

The ship, due to pay off in August, was in the commercial dockyard at Chatham when a fire started four to five hundred yards from her berth in a stockpile of paper in an industrial area.
HMS Leeds Castle was able to use upper deck connections to use her fire main to provide double the pressure of the Fire Brigade’s equipment, and with two pumps to ensure no pressure loss over the distance.

Released in November 1998, the master patterns for the 1/700 HMS Buttercup were made by Brian Fawcett, a professional modelmaker of high renown.
During this period various modifications and improvements were made to the basic design, such as an extension of the forecastle to improve seaworthiness and accommodation, and improvements in the bridge design, reflecting their change in roll from coastal to ocean escorts.
HMS Buttercup was launched on 10th April 1941 and completed on 24th April the following year, after being converted for the minesweeping role during construction.

However, all the parts (other than decals) needed to build HMS Bluebell are still included with the kit - the kit sprues are unchanged from the original Matchbox issue.
The "parts map" gives a clue, as the Bluebell parts are shaded in grey (indicating "not used") but in most cases it isn't too obvious where they go.
The major differences are that Bluebell has a circular Radar lantern not the octagonal one fitted in Snowberry,the 4" Gun shield is the one with the rounded top not the square one and,I think,the depth charge layout.Bluebell has 2 throwers a side, 2 racks at the stern plus a reload rack either side.

Ferm, in station 44 of the convoy with a cargo of close to 9000 fuel oil for Avonmouth was struck in the foreship, the explosion setting her on fire and causing her to list to port while she started to sink by the bow.
U-99 was scuttled on March 17 after HMS Walker (escort vessel for the above convoy), commanded by Macintyre, had sent a series of depth charges towards her, approximate position 61N 12W, 3 died, 40 survivors were picked up by Walker.
