The sixth HMS Dreadnought of the British Royal Navy was the first battleship to have a uniform main battery, rather than having a secondary battery of similar sized guns.
She was also the first large warship to be powered by steam turbines, making her the fastest warship of her size.
After further trials and construction of two turbine powered torpedo boats, HMS Viper and HMS Cobra, the Admiralty confirmed in 1905 that future Royal Navy vessels were to be turbine powered.

The British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) is produced by the Services Sound and Vision Corporation (SSVC) under contract to the Ministry of Defence and provides radio and television services to most locations overseas where significant numbers of British forces are permanently stationed and, subject to practicality, to operational theatres.
For the British forces onboard ships equipped with stabilised receiver dishes (eg HMS Ark Royal and HMS Ocean) the fall range of television channels has been available, however many ships do not have this capability and therefore for those with connectivity to the Skynet satellites a single television channel capability has been developed.
The programme content is specified by the Royal Navy and has during the past two months included BBC News 24, Sky News and some news programmes from the BFBS channels.

Commissioned a Second Lieutenant in December, 1970 General Quinlan was ordered to Naval Flight School, Pensacola, Fla. Designated a naval aviator in April, 1972 he was assigned to HMA-269 at MCAS New River, N.C. to fly the AH-1J Cobra.
During his tour with HMA-269, General Quinlan completed a Mediterranean deployment with HMM-264 aboard the USS Guadalcanal during the 1973 "October War" and two Caribbean deployments with HMA-269 aboard HMS Bulwark in 1974 and HMS Hermes in 1975 for exercise Rum Punch.
In addition to various squadron duties, General Quinlan served as an aircraft commander and flight instructor, and graduated from Naval Justice School, Newport, R.I., prior to leaving active duty in October, 1975.
