HMS Aurora (F10) was a Leander-class frigate of the Royal Navy (RN).
HMS Leander (F109) was the nameship of the Leander-class frigate of the Royal Navy (RN).
HMS Penelope was launched on the 17th August 1962 and commissioned on the 31st October 1963.

HMS Dido (F104) was a Leander -class frigate of the Royal Navy (RN).
In 1964 Dido joined the 22nd Escort Group which stationed in the Far East which at the time had a RN presence normally including a number of destroyers frigates and a variety of RFA vessels.
In 1983 Dido had a brief stint with STANAVFORLANT due to defence cuts she was sold the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) and was renamed Southland becoming the third RNZN Leander in process.

Rawbone, was positioned near the Dutch frigate Evertsen, who was part of a class based on the British Leanders.

They had dressed their crews in fancy colours, each to his own taste (at that time there was no uniform naval uniform), whilst they themselves were resplendent in the full dress designed for them by George II in 1748.
The ships on show were those that had fought the French in the Seven Years' War and were soon to join the War of American Independence, and were led by HMS Barfleur, of 90 guns, built only 5 years before.

This leads me to believe the bell may still be within the UK (I doubt that ship's bells are destroyed when they are de-commissioned?) My father, George Webster, served on HMS Dido and I was christened on the ship (c.1963).
