Dreadnought continued to patrol the Channel and the Baltic for another seven years, until 1812, when she was taken out of commission at Portsmouth.
Dreadnought was partially modernized in 1897-1899 and took part in British fleet maneuvers in 1900 and 1901 as a second-class battleship.
Dreadnought was commissioned for trials a year after her keel was laid and was completed in December 1906.

The fourth HMS Dreadnought (S101) was Britain's first nuclear-powered submarine, built by Vickers of Barrow-in-Furness.
Dreadnought was laid down on 12 June 1959, and launched by Her Majesty the Queen on Trafalgar Day, 21 October 1960.
Together with the frigates Alacrity and Phoebe, Dreadnought was deployed to the South Atlantic in 1977 to deter possible Argentine aggression against the Falkland Islands.

The original dreadnought was H.M.S. Dreadnought, the British battleship that revolutionized sea warfare during World War I. It was named after a ship of the line at the Battle of Trafalgar, and it gave her name to a revolution in naval warfare.
Dreadnought's hull was based on a streamlined teardrop design employed by the USS Albacore, although her hydroplanes were positioned at the bow rather than on the fin.
Dreadnought's principle role was be to detect and destroy enemy submarines and hence the term "hunter-killer" was used to describe her.

It must be noted that the Dreadnought was originally released totally bead blasted except for the bezel, the outer bezel with the minute chapter and the caseback, which was brushed.

After being decommissioned in 1959 she was beached in 1961 at Queberque, near Cherbourg in France for use as a fire training ship.
Currently serving in the Chilean Navy as CNS Ministro Zenteno and is to be decommissioned in September 2006 when it is replaced by the former HMS Norfolk recently acquired by the Chilean Navy.
She replaces the retired HMS Fearless built in 1963.
