The fourth Frolic was a composite screw gunboat launched in 1872, later a drillship and watchvessel, and sold in 1908.
The fifth Frolic was a Lend-Lease Auk class minesweeper launched in 1943, returned to the United States Navy in 1947, and in turn sold to the Turkish Navy, serving as Candarll until 1986.

Newport News stay at the Fort Lauderdale port was marked by general visiting from 1300-1600 the 23rd and 24th.
Newport News was designated host ship for the British helicopter cruiser HMS Blake (C99) from the 14th through the 18th.
On the 11th at 0840 the ship commenced a 21-gun salute, which was answered by the British at HMS Dolphin, and followed by another 17-gun salute from Newport News.

The Congress in February 1813 was considering awarding Constitution's crew $100,000 for their work, and another amount for Captain Jacob Jones and his crew in USS Wasp for their destruction of HMS Frolic, when Constitution returned from her second war cruise with the news that HMS Java had fallen victim to her guns off Brazil.
Elated by the news, but sobered by the potential cost of their proposed generosity, the Congressmen settled for a "package" of a total of $125,000 to be divided $50,000 each to Hull's and Bainbridge's crews (largely one and the same), and $25,000 to Jones'.
His sketch for the reverse of the medal was received at Washington in the spring of 1819 and forwarded on to the Secretary, who was then at New York, for approval prior to transmission to Agent Harrison and designer Furst.

Won the first American frigate victory of the War of 1812 when he defeated HMS Guerriere on 19 August 1812 in a graceless fight.
On 29 December 1812, despite two wounds and having had his helm shot away, he outmaneuvered and destroyed the faster HMS Java.
In command of Wasp, he defeated HMS Frolic early in the War of 1812, for which he received a Congressional gold medal.
