NationMaster - Encyclopedia: HMS Gallant   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-28)
HMS Gallant (H59) was a G-class destroyer of the Royal Navy laid down by the Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, Limited, at Govan in Scotland on 15 September 1934, launched on 26 September 1935 and completed on 25 February 1936.
Although Gallant does not expressly state that she was not incompetent or deny doing anything illegal, the gist of her declaration is that she was terminated for reporting the misdeeds of Attorney Pryce to the city council and cooperating with the FBI regarding Pryce.
Gallant alleges the discovery of the fax and the events described above, and claims she was, as a result, "subjected to a continuing pattern of retaliatory, malicious, and harassing treatment" from Groomes and Penn. She claims her phones were tapped, her mail screened, her e-mails surreptitiously intercepted and, ultimately, her employment terminated.

She claims her phones were tapped, her mail screened, her e-mails surreptitiously intercepted and, ultimately, her employment terminated.
Gallant's complaint does not say where or when the allegedly defamatory statement (that her termination was in the City's best interest) was made, or whether it was oral or written.

There are also two major schools of tactical thought as regards technology in the RMN: the Traditionalists, led by Admiral of the Green Hamish Alexander, and the Jeune Ecole, led by Admiral of the Green Lady Sonja Hemphill.
For example, in the events of On Basilisk Station, Admiral Hemphill put a Grav Lance(a short-ranged weapon capable of destroying a large part of a warship's passive defences) onboard the light cruiser HMS Fearless, while stripping it of virtually all of its offensive weaponry to make room for the massive weapon.
When Fearless was later forced into combat unsupported, this lack of traditional offensive weaponry resulted in far higher damage to the ship than it would have suffered had it been traditionally equipped, due to its inability to fight effectively at anything but point-blank range.
