Implacable class aircraft carrier - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Royal Navy built two Implacable-class aircraft carriers, HMS Implacable and HMS Indefatigable, to succeed the Illustrious-class carriers during the Second World War and launched in 1942.
They were modifications of the HMS Indomitable (R92) design with double-level hangars.
Unfortunately the hangars were only 14 ft in height and thus limited the aircraft types that these ships could operate.
