Indomitable had her flight-deck armour pierced by an 1100lb bomb, in the Mediterranean in August 1942 when enemy bombers scored 2 hits and 3 near-misses; that and another hit aft where there was no armour put her out of action being repaired in the USA until February 1943.
She was involved in an unsuccessful attack on Medan, Sumatra, with HMS Illustrious on 20 December 1944.
On 4 January 1945, she took part in a successful air strike against Medan, with HMS Indefatigable and HMS Victorious, and then immediately afterwards was involved in further strikes against refineries in Palembang, Sumatra on 24 and 29 January 1945.

During August, HMS Euryalus, HMS Dido and HMS Sirius with four destroyers, shelled the bridge in the Gulf of Eufemia Calibria, in support of the 8th Army under Lt-General Clarke in the Bay of Solerno, in overall command of the operation was Admiral Cunningham (R.N.) in Malta.
In august 1952 HMS Euryalus was decommissioned, and later during the year she was recommissioned and again rejoined the 1st Cruiser Squadron in the Mediterranean.

Indomitable was the only modern aircraft carrier of the Fleet, the other carrier was Hermes, but she was now effectively obsolete, and thus Indomitable was an incredibly vital asset to the Allies in the Far East.
That same month, Indomitable sailed for the Mediterranean, which didn't appear to be one of her most luckiest of regions, for she was torpedoed by a Ju-88 bomber on 15 June, while covering the Sicily Landings.

HMS Nelson was a Battleship in WW2 and there was a previous Nelson line of Battleships aswell (though i'm not sure of the dates) so it's allready an associated name with associated battle honours - not really suitable for carriers.
