HMS Jamaica (C44), a Crown Colony class cruiser of the Royal Navy, was named after the island of Jamaica, which was a British possession when she was built.
In April, 1944, HMS Jamaica was one of the escorts for the carrier force for Operation Tungsten, a Fleet Air Arm attack on the German battleship Tirpitz.
In the Korean War, Jamaica was known as "The Galloping Ghost of the Korean Coast", due to the North Koreans claiming that she had been sunk three times.

HMS Triumph (R16) (1944–1981) was a Colossus-class light fleet aircraft carrier, laid down during World War II on 27 January 1943.
Her construction was relatively quick, with the carrier being launched on 2 October 1944 with the war only a few months from its finish.
Consort and Jamaica, who would both have prominent roles during the Korean War, as well as the Australian Shoalhaven, a River-class frigate and the Royal Fleet Auxiliary tanker Wave Conqueror, joined Triumph as she departed the base.

By 1901 sufficient beds were ready ashore to enable HMS Caroline to discharge her patients and return to Chatham to be fitted out as an overflow training ship for the Ganges with accommodation for 60 boys.

HMS Belfast played a leading part in the destruction of the German battle cruiser Scharnhorst on Boxing Day 1943.
The Scharnhorst had planned to attack an allied convoy heading from England to Russia but, having been lured into a trap and surrounded, it was unable to use its famed speed after taking a direct hit in one of her boiler rooms.
And only 36 of her 1,963 crew survived the freezing waters of the Barents Sea off the northern Norwegian coast after HMS Belfast and HMS Jamaica sunk her with torpedoes.
