 Freak Emporium - Donovan
A loyal son of the folk bloom Donovan had become a regular hit maker by the mid seventies and was already a legend and this album contained gems such as "Ride-a-Mile" and "Sadness" which could have easily fitted on to HMS Donovan.
The album was the final chapter of his psychedelic phase and the title track (originally written for his friend Mac Macleod's band Hurdy Gurdy see elsewhere) is suitably cosmic in an almost Hendrix like acid rock style.
The album also features the wonderful hit "Jennifer Juniper" the mystic "Tangier" and the laid back hipness of "Get Thy Bearings" Overall a minor masterpiece and to celebrate Donovan's 40th year in music this album has been digitally remastered and contains 6 additional bonus tracks, including many which are previously unreleased.
