HMS Victory's fore top sail is a unique artifact from the battle and the period, the fact it remains intact today is a testament to the skill of the Georgian sail makers who manufactured the sail over two centuries ago.
HMS Victory's firepower alone was superior to all of Wellingtons cannons used at the Battle of Waterloo.
HMS Victory and No 4 Boathouse were the carving took place, alongside one of the ships original 32 lb cannon under repair, along with part of the original badly decayed oak carved scrollwork that had been removed from the starboard side entrance port.

HMS Ocelot was laid down at the HM dockyard in Chatham on 17th November 1960 and was launched on 5th May 1962.
HMS Ocelot's armament comprised 8 x 21 inch (525mm) torpedo tubes, 6 forward and 2 aft with 24 reloads and she carried a compliment of 6 officers and 62 hands.
HMS Ocelot was finally sold for scrap in 1992 but was saved from the breaker's yard by the dockyard that built her.

The British Kents were reconstructed in the 1930s, with increases in armour and the number of 2-pounder guns increased from eight to sixteen in two octuple mounts.

H.M.S. Bideford was also saved from the beach at Dunkirk after being towed back home by the Locust; the Sloop Bideford had her stern blown off during a sustained air attack.
HMS Locust, her sistership, was later sent back to destroy the wreck so as to avoid German salvage.
HMS Dragonfly sank in the shallow waters of the Riau Archipelago (her wreck is still there and has become a dive site) and HMS Grasshopper, heavily damaged, managed to beach herself.

These guns, dated either 1847 or 1848, most were manufactured by Henckle and Co. were used as the saluting battery on board the Victory when she was moored in Portsmouth harbour.
The 32 pounders on board HMS VICTORY are long pattern Blomefield guns, designed by Sir Thomas Blomefield, Inspector General of Ordnance, at Woolwich Arsenal.
In 1805 the maximum elevation was governed by the vertical size of the gun port and limitation of the carriage, however greater elevation could be achieved by removing the rear trucks (wooden wheels).

Served on HMS Fife (D20) March 1982-85, I remember being crash drafted to the Fife (Banana Boat) from a cushy job at PCG in HMS Vernon at the start of the Falklands only to find she was still in refit.
There was a good documentry series here on HMS Brilliant and a run she made through the Med probably back in the late 80's early 90's It is sad to realise the old ships are either scrap or sold to third world navies especially the leanders and the County Class.
I served aboard HMS Hermes in 1981 and aboard HMS Hecate from 1982 to 1984.
