HMS Shannon was a 38-gun frigate that won immortal fame for her capture of the USS Chesapeake off Boston in June 1813.
HMS Shannon commanded by Captain Philip Broke was one of the ships patrolling off the coast of the United States.
Later in his career he made a decisive contribution to the establishment of professional standards of gunnery at HMS Excellent and laid the foundations for victories such as the attack on Acre in 1840.

 The Dispatch - Serving the Lexington, NC - News
In 1863, this dock constructed HMS Achilles, the first iron battleship to be built in a Royal Dockyard.
Thunderbolt Pier, a pier named after HMS Thunderbolt, built 1856, which was used as a floating pierhead from 1873 until 1948, when she was rammed and sunk.
HMS Hermione was the last ship launched from there.

His second "observation," claimed to be on 16 Sept 1896, reported in his long 11th list, looks to me like a hasty updating of the first, though perhaps after a quick second look at the field (it would have been low in the west just after sunset, though, not ideally placed for re-examination).

The Royal Navy's explanation that a torpedo had sunk her was contradicted by a team from the ''Wreckdetectives'' from Channel 4, finding an outward piece of bended hull, suggesting the reason for her sinking was a guided missile.
The HMS Rosemary was also on her way, and upon reaching the LCG-16 launched her lifeboat.

In the four or five years since leaving Plymouth, it is likely that at least some of the officers would have left the ship in one way or another - we know from the obituary for example that Commander Colville himself Captained HMS Niger before returning to HMS Camilla during this time.
The distressing loss of her Majesty's ship Camilla, with all hands on board, in a typhoon off the coast of Japan, is already known to the public.

These were the predecessor of the destroyer which started with HMS Havock.

It was decided to change the name of the royal family from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor, and, after attending Dartmouth he joined the Royal Navy as a midshipman, and served on HMS Collingwood at the Battle of Jutland during the First World War.
This resulted in a commission from Collins the publisher and the resulting "HMS Ulysses" in 1955 was an instant success.

As the myth developed, it appeared that on a single night Zeus, in the guise of a swan, lay with Leda, who conceived Polydeuces (Pollux) and Helen "of Troy" (collectively know as the Dioscori), and her mortal husband, Tyndareus, king of Sparta, lay with his wife too, with whom she conceived Castor and Clytemnestra.

HMS NEASHAM (M 2712) was laid down in 1955 at J. Samuel White of Southampton and completed on 15 Nov 1957 but remained in operational reserve in a land cradle at Rosneath on the Clyde until 1967.
HMS POPHAM (M 2782) was laid down in 1954 as HMS HATTERLEY at Vospers of Southampton (the Ley Class was similar to the Ham but only 10 ships were built).

Belonging to a batch of 47 Leda-class ('Leda' being a copy of the captured French frigate 'Hebe') frigates, the work on 'Trincomalee' began in 1816.
After a few years of negotiation, the Trust (since 1992 : HMS Trincomalee Trust) decided that the ship was to stay there for restauration and subsequent display.
After 1887 'Jylland' was used as a stationary receiving- and schoolship until 1892 when she was converted to become a depotship.

He was a regular exhibitor at the Society of British Artists, of which he became a member in 1858.
