The current HMS Manchester (D95) is a Type 42 (Batch 3) destroyer in the 5th Destroyer Squadron of the United Kingdom's Royal Navy.
Manchester has recently been on a six-month deployment to the Caribbean, mainly on counter-drug operations and a display of security to Britain's Overseas Territories in the region.
In September Manchester sailed from Portsmouth to take part in Exercise Destiny Glory O4, a large NATO exercise in the Mediterranean, as part of an RN naval task force comprising of HMS Invincible, HMS Southampton and the Royal Fleet Auxiliary Fort George.

KINGSTOWN, St Vincent: A British sailor aboard HMS Manchester died after he fell from the stern of a private boat as it prepared to dock at Kingstown and suffered severe injuries from the vessel's propellers.
HMS Manchester is visiting St Vincent as part of celebrations marking the country's 24th anniversary of independence.
HMS Manchester has been taking part in anti-drug operations in the Caribbean since August and will leave the region in November.

The damage to the HMS Onslow is after her engagement with the German Battle Cruiser "Admiral Hipper" in which the Onslow's Captain, Captain Sherbourne received the Victoria Cross for his action in maintaining control of his ship when almost blinded by injuries.
