  The Gloster Meteor
The Meteor I was an all-metal aircraft of conventional construction, with low-mounted straight wings with two spars, turbojets mid-mounted in the the wings, and a high-mounted horizontal tailplane to keep it out of the way of the jet exhaust.
The Meteor was designed in a "modular" fashion, a consequence of the fact that it had been originally ordered during the Battle of Britain, when planners had considered the need for "dispersed production", with different factories building different subassemblies of the aircraft for final assembly at a central location.
Meteor pilots were keen to test their aircraft against the Messerschmitt Me-262 jet fighter, but at least initially they had orders not to fly beyond enemy lines lest one of their aircraft be shot down and examined.

THE PRESENT HMS Ramsey, the mine-countermeasures vessel (MCMV), is the first Ramsey to serve with the Royal Navy that carried the name from her very beginnings – there have been two previous Ramseys, but both of these started life under a different maiden name.
Currently operating as part of the Standing NRF MCM Group 1, HMS Ramsey is busy with exercises in the Baltic and off the West Coast of Scotland, but she will be seen in southern waters at the end of June when she takes part in the International Fleet Review off Portsmouth.
Ramsey, in common with her sister Sandowns, was designed primarily to clear mines and conduct survey operations both in harbours and the open ocean as far out as the edge of the eastern Atlantic continental shelf, although she is, and has more than proven herself, capable of a number of other tasks.

If you look towards the constellation of Orion, with its easy to find belt, and be patient, you should see at least a few meteors streak past in the sky.
This annual event happens because the Earth is passing through the dust trail of Halley's Comet, which returns to the Sun every 76 years.
Orionids move fast, striking the atmosphere at 66 km/s (148,000 mph), which means they can be more spectacular that other, slower moving meteor showers.
