The second HMS Foudroyant was launched in Plymouth in 1798, as a second rate line of battle ship with 80 guns (variable throughout her career).
HMS Trincomalee was a 38 gun frigate built at Bombay for the British navy.
In 1861, she was towed to Sunderland as tender for HMS Castor, a training ship, and was moved to West Hartlepool in 1862.

HMS Monmouth, also known as the Black Duke, was given the freedom of the south Wales town in a ceremony on Sunday.
Monmouth mayor Susan White said the honour, which is being bestowed as HMS Monmouth sets out on a six-month tour of duty, was well deserved.

HMS Monmouth took part in a dramatic sea rescue in the eastern Mediterranean on 14 March 2007 and helped save the lives of sailors from sinking cargo vessel the 'Afrodite S'.
Responding to the distress call, HMS Monmouth was the first to arrive on the scene and immediately launched her Merlin helicopter.  Contacting the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) at Piraeus, Monmouth began rescue operations.
HMS Monmouth was then released by the MRCC and continued as planned towards Limassol in Cyprus to continue her participation in ACTIVE ENDEAVOUR.

On the 27th March, he moved to HMS Monmouth where he remained until 27th June 1713, when the ship was paid off and he was discharged.
He was transferred to HMS Barfleur on the 2nd October 1719, and made Commander in June 1722, and appointed to HMS Weasel, which was employed against Dutch smugglers.
In 1731 he took command of HMS Diamond, and later, in 1732, he was appointed to HMS Squirrel and returned to the coast of Carolina until 1735, when his ship was paid off.

HMS MONMOUTH then launched her Merlin helicopter to aid the stricken vessel with its 11 Romanian crew.
The British warship Monmouth, currently on patrol as part of Operation Active Endeavour in the Eastern Mediterranean, is a Type 23 Duke class frigate with a length of 133 metres and displacing over 4000 tonnes.

During the visit of HMS Monmouth in late April, crew members came ashore to assist the Montserrat Branch of the British Red Cross in the rehabilitation of old people's houses damaged by the volcano.
At the time of HMS Monmouth's visit the last house was under repair.
HMS Monmouth, a frigate in the British Royal Navy spent 48 hours in Montserrat allowing the crew to visit volcanic sites, take part in sporting fixtures and tour the island as well as completing the community project.

HMS Monmouth, nicknamed the Black Duke, arrived in the Caribbean to carry out her counter-drug smuggling operations in March.
Monmouth’s Commanding Officer, Cdr Guy Haywood, said of the two earlier busts: “It was an extremely busy and testing time for all on board, but we achieved our aim of stopping the go-fasts from delivering their cargo of drugs, possibly for onward shipping to the UK.”
Monmouth is due to be in the Caribbean until July.

HMS Monmouth was the first of ten Monmouth class first class armoured cruisers built for the Royal Navy between 1899, when the Monmouth was laid down and 1904 when the last five of the class were completed.
The Monmouth class was designed to keep the speed but reduce the size and cost.
Although the class was criticized for its lack of firepower at the time, the Monmouth would be the only member of the class to be lost in battle, and eight of the ten ships built survived until 1920-21 when they were sold off.

Royal Navy frigate HMS Monmouth has concluded a four-day goodwill visit to the Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) during which the vessel's officers and sailors interacted with their counterparts here.
The ship, named after Britain's Duke of Monmouth, is a Type-23 Duke class frigate with a displacement of 3,500 tonnes and is equipped with modern armaments for anti-submarine, surface and air warfare roles.

THE helicopter of HMS Monmouth plucked 11 sailors to safety as their cargo ship foundered in a storm between Crete and Cyprus.
All 11 crew members were airlifted off the ship by Monmouth’s Merlin helicopter in conjunction with a Greek rescue helicopter which then transported the crew to the Greek mainland.
The merchantman was still afloat as Monmouth, currently on anti-terror duties in the eastern Mediterranean before heading to the Far East, left the scene, but was expected to sink given the amount of water she had shipped.
