  HMS Odin (S10) - Encyclopedia, History, Geography and Biography
HMS Odin (S10) was an Oberon-class submarine of the Royal Navy.
She was laid down by Cammell Laird and Company at Birkenhead on 27 April 1959, launched on 4 November 1960 and commissioned on 3 May 1962.
Odin paid off on 18 September 1990 and was sold for scrap in Greece in September 1991.

HMS Olympus was built by Beardmore and launched 11th December 1928.She served in the east Indies until 1940 when she went to the Mediterranean.
HMS Osiris, was built by Vickers Armstrong at barrow and 19th May 1928 served the war in the Mediterranean and after the war went to the Eastern theatre as a training submarine and finally Scrapped after the war ar Durban September 1946.
HMS Oswald built by Vickers Armstrong at barrow and launched 19th June 1928, served all her time in the Mediterranean until being rammed and sunk by Italian destroyer Vivaldi South of Calbria on the 1st august 1940 there were 52 survivors.

She was laid down by HM Dockyard at Chatham in Kent on 23 June 1927, launched on 5 May 1928 and commissioned on 21 December 1929.
She served with the 5th Flotilla at Portsmouth in 1929 and 1930, with the 4th Flotilla at Hong Kong from 1930 until 1939, with the 8th Flotilla at Colombo in Ceylon in 1939 and 1940, and with the 1st Flotilla at Alexandria in Egypt in 1940.
Odin was depth charged by the Italian destroyer Strale and the torpedo boat Baleno and sank in the Gulf of Taranto on 13 June 1940.

Odin was laid down on 23 June 1927 and launched by Mrs Sterling on 5 May 1928.
Named after the father of the gods in Norse mythology this was first used in 1807 and this submarine was the 4th vessel to have this name.
On the night of 13/14 June, Odin was caught on the surface by the Italian destroyer Strale.

The Light-cruiser HMS Blonde was heading K1, K3, K4 and K7 in line ahead off the Danish coast when she was forced to turn sharply to port to avoid three cruisers, that crossed her bows from starboard to port.
HMS Undine was on her fourth war patrol in January 1940 when her asdic failed due to a leak.
In October 1940 HMS Rainbow was on patrol in the Mediterranean, operating in the Gulf of Taranto and later in the Gulf of Otranto.

I was drafted to HMS Dolphin, Fort Blockhouse as a Main Gate Sentry and this was quite a good employment but short lived.
Unfortunately, on that trip she had an oil fuel separator explode killing and injuring a number of the stokers and was stuck in Africa for some time.
On ODIN I was happy and instead of working in the Forends, I was the refit cox'n.

As nothing could be done to save her, the crew was taken off and she was scuttled by HMS Forester, south of Sardinia at 37 40N 08 20E.
HMS Newfoundland was hit in the stern and lost her rudder, but managed to reach Malta, steering only by propellers.
