The Bounty sailed from Spithead in December 1787 under the command of Lieutenant William Bligh – its mission to transport breadfruit trees from Tahiti to the West Indies where they were to supply cheap food for the slaves who worked on the plantations.
HMS Pandora, under the command of Captain Edwards, was sent to search for the mutineers.
Fourteen of the Bounty’s crew were apprehended at Tahiti and taken prisoner, held captive in an iron cage.

Touring HMS Victory was a dream come true for me. I'm a big Hornblower fan and, according to Cannonette, rather a bit piratical myself.
There he took part in the capture of Corsica in 1794; while directing guns at the siege of town of Calvi he was hit in the face by a shower of gravel and blinded in his right eye.
The breaking of the French line by Captain Thomas Foley in HMS Goliath was an excellent example of the tactical independence which Nelson expected of his captains.

The muster rolls of HMS Aboukir show that Alexander was on the pay list from 13th April 1808 initially as a 3rd class marine and then as a 2nd class marine after his promotion whilst the Aboukir was in Genoa harbour on 24th February 1815.
The Aboukir and the Orion were detached to co-operate with the Russians, now our allies since France and Russia had been at war from 19 March and passed through the Belt on the 10 June and arrived off Danzig which was still in French hands, on the 20th June.
In 1814 Captain Norborne Thompson (from HMS Bombay) became captain of the Aboukir which was still on the Mediterranean Station.

HMS Victory finally disengages from the wrecked Redoubtable, while the Temeraire, having broken from La Fougueux, remains locked with the French ship.

A quick search turned up the faithful hound of Orion who never ceased searching for his lost master, and was therefore placed by Apollo at the heals of Orion, the hunter.
HMS Sirius was also Flagship to The First Fleet, which brought the first convoy of prisoners out to Botany Bay, in 1787.
A longtime navigator, dating back to the days of a sextant, I have some knowledge of the stars and have always regarded Sirius as a favorite because of her characteristics.
