Pickle was therefore stationed to windward of the British line until required to assist in rescuing survivors, principally those from the French Achille (74 guns) after she caught fire.

The schooner was not a well established rig in Britain before 1800, and it is generally accepted that she was Bermuda-built, probably of native cedar, but this has not yet been verified by references.
In February 1802, she was taken into dock for re-caulking and re-coppering, Lieutenant John Richards Lapenotiere was appointed to command, and from then on Pickle remained constantly in commission, except for a very brief period during the Peace of Amiens in March/April 1803.
In early 1805 Pickle made a voyage to Jamaica, arriving 25 February, where a new Master, the American born George Almy came on board, and returned to Plymouth in May. After voyages to Lisbon and Gibraltar, she fought off a group of Spanish gunboats.

Pickle was tender to HM Sloop "Curacoa" (Captain Robert Montagro) and was in command of master's mate Robert Hayes of the "Curacao", but which Pickle was it, the old Pickle or Sting?
Those which include Pickle are numerous and range from work produced when she still existed to that of famous artists like Montague Dawson and distinguished modern artists like Geoff Hunt.

Looked up HMS Derwent, was actually a fairly new ship in 1811, had only been launched in 1807.
I don't think the slaves freed by the British ships would have would have thought ill of the navy for violating the 'rights' of neutral vessels - if it involves freeing slaves then interfering in other countries affairs is fully justified.
In your transporting slaves to Brasil example, of course British ships had a right to interfere - all countries had and have an absolute right, if not a duty, to suppress the slave trade whereever it is found and whoever is carrying it out.
