HMS Queen Emma was a commando troop ship of the Royal Navy during the Second World War.
Queen Emma was converted to a new role as a troopship at Harland and Wolff's yard in Belfast.
In 1941, Queen Emma, Princess Beatrix and HMAS Dunedin were Freetown, Sierra Leone, returning to the United Kingdom having taken troops to Egypt.

 HMS Queen Emma
Built in 1939 and named Koningen Emma she and her sister ship Prinses Beatrix were engaged in transporting passengers between the Hook of Holland and Harwich.
In 1940, she was requisitioned by the Ministry of War Transport, renamed HMS Queen Emma and converted to a troopship at Harland & Wolff's yards in Belfast.
In 1946 HMS Queen Emma was released to her former owners and, after refurbishing, she resumed plying across the North Sea until 1969, when she was scrapped at a breaker's yard in Antwerp, Belgium.

De prinses was niet met lege handen gekomen, er waren pc's, televisie en dvd's.
De kinderen zijn meestal langere tijd aan het ziekenhuis gebonden en zo hebben ze wat meer vrolijkheid en via de pc kunnen toch contact met de buitenwereld houden!
