Castle Class Corvettes of the Royal Navy including HMS Allington Castle, Alnwick Castle, Amberley Castle, Bamborough Castle, Berkeley Castle, Caistor Castle, Carisbrooke Castle, Knaresborough Castle.
These Castle Class Corvettes were a much improved vessel to the Flower class Corvettes The improved length designed by William Reed of Smith's Dock made these more suitable for Atlantic Weather conditions.
I noticed that the ship's bell from HMS Knaresborough Castle is hung in the corridor of the School and this prompted me to research the ship.
