HMS Warrior (R31) was a Colossus-class aircraft carrier which served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1946 to 1948, the Royal Navy from 1948 to 1958, and the Argentine Navy from 1959 to 1969.
HMS Theseus (R64) was a Colossus-class light fleet aircraft carrier of the Royal Navy.
HMS Pioneer (R76) was a Colossus-class aircraft carrier of the Royal Navy laid down on 2 December 1942, launched on 20 May 1944 and commissioned on 8 February 1945.

  HMS Theseus (R64)
HMS Theseus (R64) (1944-1962) was a Colossus-class light fleet carrier.
During her fourth operational patrol, which begun in the middle of December 1950, aircraft from Theseus sighted numerous land vehicles in the north of the separated country, in what was a quintessential winter scene, with heavy snow covering the area.
In 1956, Theseus was used as an emergency commando carrier, along with her sister-ship Ocean, during the Suez operations from November to December.

Relieving her was HMS Theseus (R64), a sister ship which carried the 17th CAG equipped with squadrons of very capable Sea Fury and Firefly FR5 aircraft.
HMS Theseus operated throughout the bitterly cold winter of 1950–51 despite gales, hail, snow, and poor visibility.
HMS Glory, another of the ubiquitous light fleet carriers, carried the re-formed 14th CAG equipped with Sea Furies and Firefly FR5s, which were to be the standard Commonwealth carrier fighter-bombers for the rest of the war.

The first, was shot down forty miles from Theseus and was soon rescued by helicopter, the second, again hit by flak crashed initially into a paddy field, then skidding straight into a dry river bed.

 Colossus Class Light Fleet Aircraft Carriers
Theseus and Ocean, together with French sister Arromanches (previously Colossus) participated in ‘Operation Musketeer’- the invasion of the Suez Canal in 1956.
Theseus was converted for helicopter use and in 1956 Theseus and Ocean landed Royal Marine commandos in Suez, the first ever assault landing by helicopter.
Theseus entered reserve in 1958 and was sold in 1962 for breaking up by TW Wards, arriving at Inverkeithing on May 29th 1962.

She was laid down in 1943 by Fairfield at Govan, and launched on 6 July 1944.
The CAG (Carrier Air Group) were awarded the Boyd Trophy for a remarkable operational tour of duty that included many firsts for pilots and aircrew, not to mention the ship itself.
A rather brief but eventful career truly ended when she was broken up at Inverkeithing in 1962.

The first ρurρose-designed aircraft carrier to be develoρed was the HMS Hermes (1923), although the first one to be commissionned was the Jaρanese Jaρanese aircraft carrier Hosho (commissioned in December 1922, followed by HMS Hermes in July 1923).
However, the vulnerability of carriers comρared to traditional battleshiρs was quickly illustrated by the sinking of HMS Glorious by German battlecruisers during the Norwegian camρaign in 1940.
In the Atlantic, aircraft from HMS Ark Royal and HMS Victorious (R38) were resρonsible for slowing German Battleshiρ Bismarck during May 1941.

 Operation Musketeer - Helicopter Database
Towards the end of August, Ocean and Theseus returned to the UK for rapid refit and were replaced on station by HMS Albion (R09) with her Sea Hawks and Sea Venoms.
Ocean was updated with modern hospital and operating theatre facilities and both her and Theseus were modified for Helicopter operations.
The main Royal Naval punch was provided at first light on 1 Nov by the fixed wing aircraft carriers Albion, Bulwark and Eagle to the west of Longitude 32, whilst the RAF were assigned to the east.

It had been left to him by his late father who served in the Royal Navy and was Commanding Officer of HMS Sultan, an Engineering Naval Establishment at Portsmouth.
Apparently, during refurbishment at the Station, the wheel was about to be scrapped and thrown into a skip, so it was salvaged, legs were fitted, and made into a coffee table.
Wheel number ST 5078 was supplied to the ship builder Fairfield at Govan, Glasgow on the 22nd June 1944.The wheel was fitted to the Colossus Class light fleet carrier, HMS Theseus (R64).
