  About HMS Trumpeter
Bristol's ship is HMS Trumpeter; she is 20 metres in length, powered by two Rolls-Royce Perkins diesel engines, capable of 21 knots and has accommodation for 12 crew and trainees on board.
HMS Trumpeter was returned to the US Navy on 6 April 1946, where she reverted to her original name of USS Bastian before being sold into merchant service as the Alblasserdijk.
She was renamed HMS Trumpeter in 1947, and later, on transfer to the Ministry of Transport in 1956, was further renamed Empire Fulmar.

There have been 15 different HMS Rangers over the past 300 years, from the sloop hired in 1718 by Lt Robert Maynard in order to capture and kill the legendary pirate Blackbeard, to the present P2000 allocated to Sussex URNU.
The current HMS Ranger was built at Shoreham-by-Sea by Watercraft Ltd in 1987 and was originally allocated to the Forth Division of the Royal Naval Reserve for Junior Officer training.
In 1991 she went to Gibraltar with HMS Trumpeter to form the Gibraltar Squadron, and returned to the UK to become Sussex URNU's allocated P2000 in early 2004.

Trumpeter was to take part in the last air strike of the European War on May 4th; her aircraft shared the sinking of the German Submarine U711 with aircraft from HMS Queen.
HMS Trumpeter was returned to the US Navy on April 6th 1946, reverting to her original name of USS Bastian but was to see no active service with the USN, being marked for disposal on 19 June 1946.
She became HMS Trumpeter in 1947, before being transferred to the Ministry of Transport in 1956,as Empire Fulmar.

The USS Bastian (CVE-37) (originally AVG-37 and then ACV-37) was an escort aircraft carrier built by Seattle-Tacoma Shipbuilding Corp., Tacoma, Washington, laid down on 25 August 1942 and launched 15 December 1942.
She was transferred to the United Kingdom, under Lend-Lease and commissioned on 4 August 1943 as HMS Trumpeter (D09).
The vessel was returned to United States' custody 6 April 1946, stricken from the Naval Vessel Register 19 June 1946 and sold into merchant service as the Alblasserdijk (later renamed Irene Valmas).

The HMS Hood is without a doubt the most well known ship of the British Fleet.
In May of 1941 the HMS Hood set out with the HMS Prince of Wales to intercept the German battleship Bismarck which was trying to break out into the Atlantic.
Trumpeter has obviously poured a lot of research into this ship as it looks very much like the plans and photo's of the ship that I have seen.
