HP has had a long partnership with Veritas, and they use VxFS as their primary file system.
Following the merger of HP with Compaq in 2001, plans were made to merge the Tru64 TruCluster technology with HP-UX.
However, HP had suffered employment reductions in key departments during the economic downturn, and so at the end of 2004 the decision was made to cancel this project.

 HP Taps Mozilla for HP-UX
HP said part of its inspiration for choosing Mozilla was based on its ability to prove "that it is here to stay, and that it is a worthy and professional."
During the transition, HP said developers wouldn't have to worry because the source code for Mozilla is open, and so security updates get regularly submitted and is generally a couple of months ahead of Netscape in feature updates.
HP said it will be able to ship quarterly updates and would continue to test versions of Mozilla on HP-UX, and would provide a fully supported and tested version of Mozilla at its Software Web site and eventually through application media kits.

HP has dropped plans to beef up its HP-UX operating system with new high availability and clustering technology it obtained in its 2002 acquisition of Compaq.
HP has some catch-up work to do in the virtualization area, where rival IBM's AIX version of Unix is already capable of running as many as 10 instances of an operating system on a single processor.
HP's focus on performance is aimed at wooing customers such as Jerry Skaare, director of architecture at Best Western International Inc. A former Tru64 user who has migrated to HP-UX to run the hotel chain's reservation system, Skaare will take a hard look at performance as his company prepares for its next IT deployments.

I include HP in the development and test cycles.
HP-UX spe169 B.11.11 U 9000/800/A500-7X C-Kermit 7.0.197, 8 Feb 2000, for HP-UX 11.00 This one is four years newer than the one you found but it is before the buffer overflow fixes.
I suspect that HP ships newer Kermit versions with newer OS versions, but does not issue new Kermit patches for older OS versions.
