Recommended Reading Although the Glory of Istar plotline is designed NOT to follow established Dragonlance storylines (it's supposed to rest on its own), reading some Dragonlance material will definitely help you understand the setting and circumstances of the characters in the Glory of Istar.

The big thing to keep in mind for the Original Toril Gods (Yeah, we took the name of the campaign and glued it onto Forgotten Realms' planet) is that they were only a base from which the gods of Dragonlance evolved.
So you know the time frame we're talking about, these gods showed up in my campaign when I was using the original "little pamphlets" of DandD (The wood-grained box, Greyhawk, Blackmoor, and Eldritch Wizardry), combined with some of the early DRAGON magazines.
The symbol of the ultimate good was a seven-candled menorah, while the symbol of ultimate evil was the septagram or seven pointed star.

There are a lot of typos in the book though, like eleven instead of elven, justinius instead of justarius, half orc (!!) instead of half ogre, Ariakan instead of Ariakas (in timeline where tanis kills him), etc.
Dragonlance is known for having kleptomaniacal halflings with sling staves and gnomish engineers, yet neither make it into the core book?
I've been told space considerations are the reason, but dude, there is a 1.5 inch border on every page.
