If a friend was to cite Hackney as their chosen location to open a fine dining restaurant, cocktail driven bar, and nightclub providing quality live music, then your immediate reaction might be to check they hadn't lost their marbles.
As the name suggests Hackney Central is situated in a converted railway building that has lain empty for sixteen years, next to the existing Hackney Central station.
At four O clock Hackney's residents spill home from work and on their way out of the station pass Hackney Central's tall arched windows, etched with promises of 'cocktails', 'music' and 'diversity'.

In 1988 when Hackney Central S.C returned to the pool they were asked to change the name to Haggerston S.C by the new manager at the pool.
Hackney Council you have left the whole community without a swimming pool and all the other facilities that were there because you failed everybody to do what you were elected to do.

The Hackney Today came through the door today and includes an article on the upcoming improvements and changes to the grounds around St John at Hackney.
It was amazing to see this being put forward as a Hackney Council project when they have actually imperiled it at several stages and been relative late-comers to it.
This project is not "lipsticking the primate" and LBH have had to be dragged into supporting it; shame on them then for then taking the project and claiming such a central role in its development in their propaganda sheet.

The Sam Rayburn Central Open, which begins Thrusday (Oct. 31) and ends Saturday (Nov. 2), will be the event that determines which anglers move on from the Central Open to the Classic.

Not in Hackney: Spitalfields, the area to the south and east of Shoreditch High Street, is not in Hackney, but in the neighbouring borough of Tower Hamlets (Brick Lane is mostly Spitalfields, though the southern end is in Whitechapel - Tower Hamlets areas get pretty confusing).
In Hackney: Stoke Newington, though it has a distinct character of its own (sometimes it gets known as 'little Islington') is in Hackney, as are Shoreditch and Hoxton.
